About The Blog

Designing Women Project
Designing Women is an online magazine-blog, dedicated to exploiting social norms that have made women feel uncomfortable in their own skin, self conscious about their appearance, and feel as though they are less of a person because they were born a woman. This blog explores what it means to be female; everything from sexual orientation, race, religion, and body type. While Designing Women tries to be an unbiased blog, it is hard not to get angry about how even in 2011 women are still seen as a weaker sex. Through this blog, we use mediums such as text, video, and photos to get our message out. There is also a link to Facebook and Twitter where readers can re-post blog entries they find interesting. Although women are oppressed daily through the internet with pornography websites and fashion websites, we can use the internet to fight back and to get our message out. Please enjoy our blog, and we hope it will open up eyes, and let everyone know that a woman is not a doll that is designed in a factory, but a human being- an equal to men.
